This floor plan might help put all of my pictures in perspective. This drawing is oriented so the top is toward Main Street, or west. More pictures to come soon!

This internal French door is in the formal dining room, and you can see through it to the formal parlor. The formal dining room is to the right of the front door as you're facing the house. One of the odd things about this house is that it's not oriented toward Main Street even though it has a Main Street address and presence. There is a sidewalk from Main Street that leads to the front door, and you can imagine Victorian ladies walking down it to call on the residents of the Bond House. The sidewalk is not a throughway and only goes to this house.

To the left of the French door (as you're looking at it from within the dining room), there is a bay of windows that gets eastern, southern, and western light. I used this for plants and was able to keep many garden plants through the winter in here. I even grew cherry tomatoes through the winter one year!

That picture is a little dark but it shows the bay of windows. The wood stove that you see on the right will be put in the kitchen. The urns are going to our new house.

Here is a close up of the ceiling of the bay. It's one (normal sized) window deep. I love the rope detail and beadboard.

This is another shot of the dining room with the wood stove and stovepipe cluttering it up.

The wood stove is a restored antique Glenwood stove.

This room was the butler's room way back when. We didn't have a butler but we still called it the butler room, just for fun. It's at the top of the back stairs, next to the bathroom and right above the kitchen. It's the smallest bedroom in the house. The floor in this room is the last to be refinished, and we have that scheduled. It will look just like the other bedroom floors you see; they're spruce wood and they're just lovely. We will be installing light fixtures everywhere in case the bare light bulbs frighten you (as well they should!). The butler room is on the northeastern corner of the second story, and the window is on the north wall. Even though the room is on the northern side, it stays pretty warm because it's directly above the wood stove in the kitchen and it has a passive heat register.

For a while we had this as another guest bedroom, and it was a nice room to escape to for a midday nap. I have to include another closet shot...I think one of the surprising things about this house is its closet space. To orient yourself, I took the first shot and then sort of pivoted to the left and took the closet shot (the closet is in the northwest corner of the room, and the corner by the window is the northeast corner). I know, lots of directions, but that's the way I think.

I will definitely work on getting full view shots of the bedrooms!

We used this room as a guest room for a while, and now it's standing in as a home office (I didn't get a shot of the inside of this room yet either, hope to next weekend). It gets fantastic light and has windows to the east and south. I should mention that all the bedrooms are on the second floor -- that's a pretty common layout with older houses. This room is right next to the base of the stairs that go to the attic, and it's across from (east of) the master bedroom. This room has a quirky triangle closet.

Here is a shot of the other bedroom from the hallway. From this view, the master bedroom would be to the left. There is a small linen closet on the landing in between those two rooms (you can see it in the picture below). This second bedroom was full of stuff but it's been cleared out so next weekend I will get a picture from within the room.

Here are some pictures of the master bedroom. We are still clearing the house out, so I haven't been able to get full-room pictures of the bedrooms yet, so please bear with me. I will post what I have right now, and I will be taking more pictures each weekend. If you have any specific requests, please let me know. My pictures are a little crooked, sorry!

The master bedroom connects to another bedroom through a doorway that has a narrow closet on either side of it. This was built when the master and lady of the house had separate bedrooms. We used them together as a bedroom and a changing room, which felt really luxurious! It would also be nice as a nursery off of the main bedroom.

The master bedroom has southwestern exposure, and the connecting bedroom has a northwest exposure. Both rooms have a bay of three windows on the western wall. I will try to get all the room dimensions in another post.
